Saya Orang Belanda

Borneo is an island with diverse wildlife such as the Orang-Utan, sea turtles, meat eating plants and the endangered Proboscis Monkey known for its prominent nose. The local Malays have a nickname for this interesting looking monkey and that is Orang Belanda, which in English translates to Dutch Man, after the Dutch colonialists. Do you see the resemblance?

I thought I might need to see this monkey in person, so I booked a flight to Sandakan, Borneo. David and I will be singing Christmas carols and exchanging gifts on the third largest island in the world this year!  Ho! Ho! Ho!
